impromime

This Impro-Mime session explored costume as a trigger for movement, character and dramatic relationships. Rather than treating clothing as a purely decorative element, performers were invited to observe how a material, silhouette or accessory could transform their gestures and imagination. The exercises alternated between solos, duets and group improvisations, sometimes centred on a single costume or a shared costume. Some prompts deliberately brought together a costumed performer and another without a costume. The session ended with a two-act improvisation, allowing the same situation to be compared directly before and after costumes were introduced.
