impromime

This Impro-Mime session took desire as a field of exploration, approaching it in forms that were sometimes intimate, unsettling or fantastical. After collective work on absence, the performers explored a gothic atmosphere in which desire could lead from attraction to terror and transformation. Other duets drew on vertigo and pleasure, while a solo addressed corruption, greed or the pursuit of greatness. The session then moved towards dreams and the unconscious before concluding with a science-fiction proposal around “posthuman desire”. A single theme could thus move from the sensory to the political, then from the psychological to the imaginary.
