Mime

Catherine Asselin-Boulanger has been immersed in physical theatre since childhood. At the age of seven, she took to the stage with OMNIBUS in Les Comédies barbares, beginning a journey that would include Destination, Burlesque and L’Amour est un opéra muet. Trained in Decroux’s corporeal mime, she has practised and deepened her understanding of this language for some twenty years, drawing on its rigorous analysis of movement, the body and space. This training remains at the heart of her artistic approach, which she now extends into visual and media arts, exploring the body’s expressiveness, silence and the relationships between inner experience and movement.
