Impro-Mime: Mime and Monsters
Coupal coin Fullum, MontréalVoluntary contributionChildren and latecomers admitted

This Impro-Mime session approached the monster less as a fantastical character than as a principle for transforming the body and the imagination. Participants explored monstrous micro-movements and dynamo-rhythms, imagined a creature appearing in a given world, and observed how one part of the body could gradually “contaminate” the rest of the performer. Duets gave rise to multi-headed creatures inspired by the Hydra or Cerberus, while other proposals introduced monstrous beings into perfectly ordinary situations. The session sought to understand how strangeness can emerge from the familiar and how several bodies can come together to build a single creature.
