impromime

This Impro-Mime session, directed by Annick Benoît, explored hunger in its physical, emotional and symbolic forms. The improvisations invited performers to work with lack, excess, desire, attraction and repulsion, observing how these states could transform the body and relationships between partners. Some proposals played with a state spreading from one performer to another, or with the shift from a controlled body to one overtaken by an impulse stronger than itself. The gathering brought mime, movement and sound creation together to explore the tensions that arise when desire becomes need.
