impromime

This second Impro-Mime gathering devoted to mime and puppetry, led by Laurence Castonguay Emery and Émilie Racine, continued the previous year’s exploration of the encounter between the mime’s body and the world of manipulation. Mimes and puppeteers came together to compare their practices, instincts and respective ways of bringing movement to life. The session brought together Jennyfer Desbiens, Solo Fugère and Bryan Morneau from mime, and Marc-André Roy and Elisabeth Coulon-Lafleur from puppetry, accompanied by a surprise guest puppeteer. It offered another opportunity to explore what happens when the living body, the manipulated object, stage presence and improvisation begin responding to one another.
