Élise Lafontaine
Drawing
Élise Lafontaine is a Montréal visual artist whose practice explores the body as an architecture of sensation, shaped by space, memory and transformation. Through a hybrid approach to painting that is both two-dimensional and volumetric, she focuses on thresholds between inside and outside and on experiences of the female body. She holds a master’s degree in visual and media arts from UQAM and a bachelor’s degree in Studio Arts from Concordia, and exhibits in Canada and internationally. Her work has been shown at Pangée, Centre CLARK and in New York, and is held in several institutional collections.
