Stage director, actor, mime, educator and researcher, Francine Alepin has explored the body as a theatrical language in its own right for more than forty years. Trained in corporeal mime and long associated with Omnibus, she has performed more than seventy roles and created numerous works in Québec and abroad. An adjunct professor at UQAM’s École supérieure de théâtre, she pursues research that brings together movement, poetry, dramaturgy and the anthropology of gesture. Her distinctive career has made her a leading figure in Québec’s physical theatre.
